The KVHA House program is our recreational hockey program for the youth in Brighton, Howell and surrounding communities. Recreational hockey, or tier 3, is less commitment, less cost and less travel than tier 2 or "travel" hockey. House hockey is for all abilities and skill level from beginner to advanced. Players must have a minimum skill level to participate. Teams skate on average 5 times over a two week period. Once games start, there may be one additional day for away games.

Our 10U and older teams participate in the Little Caesar's Amateur Hockey League (LCAHL), which requires some travel. There is a monthly ice fee associated with each division that is payable from September through February. House players must register with KVHA every season to be placed on a team and registering early is advised to ensure that the division is not sold out. In addition to this fee, there are monthly ice fees, payable from September through February via online payment et up. The only additional parental costs are for tournaments or team activities.

KVHA's travel program begins at the "A" (age 9) level through 18U or 19U "AA" and typically we have at least three teams at each birth year through the 14U "AA" age group. The level of skill for each team varies from Yzerman to Howe 3/4.
Travel hockey is intended for more advanced players. There is more of a time commitment in Travel hockey than House, and it is a more competitive league. Each team skates 3.5 to 4.5 hours per week, plus additional time for away games and tournaments.
Travel teams are formed via tryouts, with Spring tryouts in March or April. Teams are not required to host a Fall tryouts, however, if they did not fill their team from Spring tryouts, they may host a tryout skate mid-May/early June or even later. Tryouts are open to everyone unless specified as "invite-only". The teams are picked by the coaching staff of each respective team after the tryouts are held.
Each player is responsible for their annual KVHA registration fee as well as their monthly ice fees, which are set and collected by each team and utilized as the team deems necessary. Each team is responsible for the cost of ice, referees, tournaments, off ice conditioning, etc and the monthly ice fees reflect those costs. Teams may obtain sponsors or hold fundraisers to offset those costs.
KVHA's Raven's teams begin as young as age 6 with our 8U Ravens Cross-Ice team up to our oldest 19U Tier 2 teams. All of our Raven's teams participate in the MGHL with travel for away games. They attend tournaments, and one team per classification is also eligible for the MAHA State tournament.
Girls Tier 2 teams are made up of girls who have been playing hockey since a young age and they are formed via tryouts, with Spring tryouts in March or April.

Tier 3 is a great developmental opportunity for girls that will start a love of the game!! Our 10U and older Tier 3 teams are mostly those still learning. Tier 3 teams are usually formed later in the season by registration, with the girls currently in the program given priority over new girls registering from outside the association. The girls must exhibit a minimum amount of skills to participate, with more skills/awareness required the older the team.
All Players - Ravens, Travel, 8U, House - Must be Registered with KVHA to be Rostered to Their Teams & Order Jerseys for the Season.
Registration Does Not Carry Over From The Previous Season And Must Be Completed Each Year. Additionally, All Players Must Renew Their USA Hockey Membership To Be Eligible and Complete Your Registration.
