The BIGGBY Coffee Ice Cube, owned by Black Bear Sports Group, LLC., is a three-sheet facility that services not only the KVHA, but Brighton, South Lyon and Livingston United High School Teams, Harmony Figure Skating, the Brighton Ice AAU program, plus several private adult groups and the KVIH adult league.
From the front office and back to the Zamboni drivers, they are assisting us and the other renters of ice and keep things running smoothly. They administer all adult leagues, open skating, sticks/pucks sessions, and private rentals.

For your games to be broadcast on Black Bear TV, the rink has to be notified of your upcoming games well in advance!
Please email your added games to Sydney as soon as you schedule them and she will add them to the rink schedule with your opponent's name and locker room assignments. Games requested with less than 72 hours' notice cannot be guaranteed to be televised through Black Bear TV. The earlier everyone is notified, the better!
RULES of the RINK!
Players should not enter the ice surface while the Zamboni is on the ice and they must wait until after the Zamboni doors have been closed, and an official or coach enters the ice first
Everyone is required to provide the office their keys or driver's license in exchange for a locker room key. You should be locking the room when on the ice and taking the key with you. Please review the locker room policy
The front office will turn on the heaters when there is a game. If they forget, a friendly reminder10 minutes before the game begins is appropriate. Please note that the rink heaters are not efficient. We recommend that you also dress warm in layers and bring a blanket to sit on
When temperatures are over 60 degrees, starting in the Spring and continuing through the summer, the heaters will usually not be turned on. This is to ensure the ice stays in good shape.
Music is allowed in locker rooms but please be courteous of everyone else in the building when doing so. Songs should be clean, non-explicit versions. The locker rooms are shared spaces, and it is quite possible that a younger team is nearby. The walls are thin and you can hear into the next locker room, through the bathrooms, throughout the building.
Coaches following practice, please return all training tools such as divider pads, tires, cones, and shooter tutors to the proper storage area next to the benches. If you brought a coffee or players brought disposable water bottles, please put them in the trash bin.
Divider pads are not shooter tutors. Do not use them as such. The more abuse they take, the sooner we have to replace them. The KVHA invests membership dollars into training tools and the goal is to maximize their life span with proper usage and storage.
For safety purposes, all non-hockey playing children should never be left unattended! We ask that parents please keep their children with them at all times.
Puck or Ball hockey is not allowed inside any areas of the rink!
PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL DURING YOUR TIME AT THE RINK AND LEAVE EVERYTHING IN BETTER SHAPE THAN WHEN YOU FOUND IT! If all do their part, we can look forward to a SAFE and ENJOYABLE hockey season...

Chop Detroit - Top Shelf is independently owned and operated with several locations throughout Michigan.
If you'd like to have a team party inside the restaurant, please email olivia@cdtopshelf.com and she will get in touch with options and timing.
