2023-2024 KVHA President’s Welcome

Good Morning Hockey Families –

As we head back to school and into the rinks, I wanted to welcome everyone to the 2023-2024 hockey season.  We are excited for a year filled with great memories, fellowship, growth, development, and success both on and off ice!

We are 733 members strong and growing!    This season, we were fortunate to add two new Raiders teams in the 2014 and 2013 birth years, plus a 12u Tier 3 Ravens team.   We have 21 boys travel teams, 8 Ravens teams as well as 20 house teams.  This includes over 160 kids in our 6u/8u program thanks to our continued sponsorship from BIGGBY Coffee, whose funding helps the program purchase rink divider pads, youth goalie and other equipment, plus host jamboree events in December and March.  This is a great sign for the future of the KVHA!

Please watch for volunteering opportunities at one of our Try Hockey For Free events during the season. This is a great way for players to give back to the game by assisting first time skaters step on the ice and score their first goal.

Coaches and Managers, thank you! Your selflessness and dedication to player development is what drives our success. The time you spend on and off the ice does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Our association has a wealth of hockey knowledge. If you ever find yourself in need please do not hesitate to ask.

The staff of our partners at the Kensington Valley Ice House and Hartland Sports Center works hard to prepare the ice, locker rooms and common areas so please be mindful of this by helping keep our rinks clean and welcoming for our guests and opponents.

We also ask to please display class, sportsmanship and respect of officials during the season. Let’s set the example not only for our players but for all other associations in the State of Michigan.

Stay tuned to your email and KVHA social media for an announcement about the “State of the KVHA” address, coming in October or November.  You will also notice a continued online and social media presence where families can further engage with KVHA. We can be found at the links noted below:

To all our hockey players and families, from our first-time players, our Senior Rebels and Ravens, and every player and family member in between, I wish you a great season!

Thank you for being a part of our hockey family.
